Why does the Video Studio say I've hit my limit?
Video generation works on every plan, including Free. If the Video Studio asks you to upgrade or says you've hit a limit, it's one of two things: you've used up the small monthly video allowance on the Free plan, or you're low on credits. Video draws from the same shared credit pool as every other studio and is the most credit-intensive type, so it runs out fastest. Here's exactly how Free-plan video works and what paid plans add.
Can I generate video on the Free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes the Video Studio along with Image, Music, and Magic Edit. Your 150 starter credits are shared across every studio, so a realistic amount of video on Free is about three 5-second 480p clips (40 credits each) — or one 5-second 720p HD clip at 85 credits with change left for images and music.
Premium 1080p and 4K resolutions are offered on every plan, but they cost far more per clip than 150 credits can cover, so reaching them on Free means topping up with a credit pack. For everyday Free use, stick to 480p.
Why does it say I've reached my limit?
Two limits can apply:
- Monthly video allowance. The Free plan caps how many videos you can generate each month. Once you've used it, the Video Studio asks you to upgrade until your allowance refreshes.
- Credits. Even under the monthly allowance, each clip spends credits. If your balance is too low for the clip you asked for, you'll see an insufficient-credits message. Choose a lower resolution or shorter length, top up with a credit pack, or upgrade.
How do I get more video?
Upgrade from Settings → Plan & Billing. Each paid plan raises the monthly video allowance and the credit allotment that premium resolutions need:
- Creator — many more videos per month, enough credits to render at 1080p and 4K, the timeline editor, and publishing to Discover & PrismRadio. (The Creator Cast stream tools themselves are free on every plan.)
- Pro (most popular) — a larger monthly allowance on top of Creator, plus priority generation, priority support, longer history, and more storage.
- Apex — the highest limits and storage.
