Vertical frames for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, eight to a page. Planning vertical on a vertical frame is the difference between a shot that fills the screen and one that gets cropped into it.

How to use them
A storyboard is a plan, not a drawing
None of this needs you to draw well. Stick figures, boxes and arrows carry a shot as well as a rendering does. The point is that everyone reading the board sees the same film.
- Step 1
Print the sheet that matches your output
Pick the ratio you are actually delivering in. A vertical video planned on widescreen frames loses its edges the moment it is cut.
- Step 2
One panel per beat, in order
A panel is a change: a new shot, a new angle, a new idea. If two panels show the same thing, one of them is not earning its place.
- Step 3
Write what the frame cannot show
The drawing holds composition. The lines underneath hold movement, camera and sound — the things that decide whether the cut works.
What goes in the lines
Four things worth writing down
The frames get all the attention, but a board that only has pictures falls apart the moment someone else has to shoot it. These are the notes that survive the handoff.
The panel number
Pre-printed on every sheet. It is what people point at in a review, and what you renumber against when a beat gets cut.
Action
What changes during the shot. Not what the frame looks like — what happens between the first and last moment of it.
Camera
How the frame moves and how close it sits: push in, hold, pan left, wide, close. One short phrase is usually enough.
Dialogue and sound
The line spoken over the shot, or the sound that carries it. Timing problems show up here long before they show up in an edit.

Are these storyboard templates really free?
Yes. Every sheet downloads as a PDF with no account, no email address and no watermark, and nothing on this page is gated behind a signup. You can use them for personal and commercial work.
What format are the templates in?
Print-ready PDF. English sheets come in both US Letter and A4; every other language ships A4. The frames and rules are vector, so they stay sharp at any print size.
Do I need a PrismPoster account to download them?
No. The download links are plain files. An account only matters if you later want to build the same board in Storyboard Studio and generate video from it.
Which aspect ratio should I pick?
Match your delivery. 16:9 for YouTube, film and most web video; 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok; 1:1 for feed posts and carousels; 4:3 for traditional animation work. Planning on the wrong shape is the most common reason a storyboard stops being useful at the edit.
Can I use these for client or commercial work?
Yes, including paid client projects. You do not need to credit PrismPoster, though the footer link is there if you want to point someone at where you got them.
Can I edit the templates instead of printing them?
