How do I opt my music into PrismRadio broadcast?
Broadcasting your music on PrismRadio is opt-in and off by default. Your track plays on the public station only if you turn radio release on, and the moment you make that choice is when you keep a music variant in the Music Studio. If you keep a variant without opting in, the track stays off PrismRadio. Opting a track in also simulcasts it to PrismPoster's YouTube Live and Twitch channels once it's on-air. What has to be true for a track to actually broadcast?
Opting in is the trigger, but a track only reaches the airwaves once all of these hold:
- It is also publicly released to Discover — opting into broadcast without publishing keeps the track off-air. Releasing to Discover and PrismRadio is a paid-plan feature (Creator or above).
- It has passed moderation.
- It runs between one and six minutes long.
When those are met and you've opted in, the track plays on PrismRadio and simulcasts to PrismPoster's YouTube Live and Twitch channels. The station streams continuously; the /radio page shows what's playing now.
When do I make the broadcast choice?
You make it at the keep step. After generating in the Music Studio, you keep the variant you want — and that is where the broadcast/radio release option appears. The setting starts off, so a kept track does not broadcast unless you choose to opt it in. Choosing not to opt in keeps the track private to your account except for any other release action you take.
Is broadcast on by default?
No. Radio release is off by default for every track. This is intentional: nothing you generate plays on PrismRadio, or anywhere public, without an explicit choice on your part. The opt-in is per-track, so opting one song into broadcast never affects your other music.
How do I change my mind later?
The broadcast setting is a lever you control per track, so you can turn it on or off after the fact. If a track is broadcasting and you no longer want it on the station, switch its radio release off; if you skipped the opt-in and later want it on PrismRadio, turn it on. Changing the broadcast setting is separate from any other publish action, so adjusting it does not change what else you have or have not released.
